Context of the Role
The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) was established as part of the George Institute’s global operations. This division has five main areas of responsibility, namely, Academic Project Operations, Research Strategy and Services, Statistics, Health Economics and Process Evaluation, and Health Systems Science.
Established in Sydney in 2006, the Statistics Division has grown substantially and now includes staff in Australia, China, India and the UK working across a vast portfolio of clinical research studies. With employees across the world working on many projects, it is crucial for the Statistics division to ensure the integrity and accuracy of its work.
The Role (Full time / 2 year fixed term contract / renewable)
The Statistics Division is responsible for the provision of statistical expertise to support the research done at the George Institute; this includes clinical trials, meta-analyses, and range of observational studies including surveys and linked health data. The Biostatistician is responsible for the analysis of medical research projects conducted by The George Institute for Global Health in Australia and globally.
