Membership types

Full membership (from $240)Members will receive the weekly SSA newsletter and have online access to four copies of the "Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics" and six electronic issues of "Significance" each year. Good news for employees of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ASB). In recognition of the ongoing Strategic Partnership agreement and generous financial support provided by the ABS, ABS employees eligible for the full member category get a 50% discount off the membership fee. Choose the membership category "Full member - ABS employee" when registering for the first time or renewing your membership. Retired membership ($125)This Membership is available to retired Statisticians, regardless of whether or not they were members of SSA during their careers. Retired members will receive the weekly SSA newsletter and have online access to four copies of the "Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics" and six electronic issues of "Significance" each year. Full-time student membership ($20)Discounted student membership of SSA is available to those who are engaged in full-time studies and do not have an income. If you earn a salary you will generally not qualify for student membership. If you are unsure of your status please feel free to contact SSA at eo@statsoc.org.au with information about your student status and employment status (full-time, part-time, casual or permanent, name of employer) and an individual assessment will be made. Early Career Membership ($125) This discounted level of membership is available to members transitioning or having transitioned from full-time university studies to employment within the last three years. The fee is half the cost of full membership, with all the benefits of full membership. Transitional membership ($125)On a career break? If you are on parental leave and not earning an income, or unemployed, this discounted level of membership is for you. The fee is half the cost of full membership, with all the benefits of full membership. Perpetual membershipIf you are over 50, have been a member for ten or more years, and you like the idea of paying for your membership once and never again having to think about renewing it or scrambling for invoices at tax time, this membership type is for you. Full membership for members of the NZSA ($200) Members of the NZSA receive a discount on SSA's full membership fee (see current fees here). Accredited members please contact the SSA office to change to this membership type. Members will need to provide proof of their current membership with NZSA. Subscriber-ANZSTAT Discussion Forum (no cost)This is not actually a membership with SSA. Being a subscriber only allows you to post and comment on the ANZSTAT discussion forum. This category does not include any member benefits, such as discounts to events, access to the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics or reduced subscription rates to "Significance". There is no fee for Subscribers. Annual accreditation fee ($55)AStat accredited members pay an annual Accreditation Fee of $55 AUD ($50 AUD for residents outside Australia). Equity Membership ScholarshipsCould you be eligible for complimentary membership? Find out more. Change of mind? If you take out paid membership and change your mind within a month of becoming a member, we will credit your membership fee back to you, provided you have not attended any member-only events or attended events where you took advantage of a member discount. A $20 admin fee will apply. Please email the SSA office if you have changed your mind. |
