    Lecturer in Statistical Science, 1FTE, Permanent, Contract type B

    Applications are invited for appointment as permanent Lecturer in Statistical Science in the Discipline of Statistical Science at NUI Galway.

NUI Galway holds a strong international reputation in Statistical Science research and in translating this into high quality research-led teaching programmes.

    Academics in the Discipline have a strong track record of teaching and research in topics including statistical modelling, biostatistics, sports analytics and data science. The School includes members of the Data Science Institute (DSI) and the associated Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics, which has a strong international reputation in data science.

    We are seeking to recruit a talented and committed permanent Lecturer in Statistical Science for teaching, research and service. Applicants are invited from any area of the Statistical Sciences, but those working in statistical aspects of Data Science are particularly welcome.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervision at all levels, and should have a good track record in research and scholarship in Statistical Science. They will demonstrate an interest in participating in academic administration, and engagement with industry and society regionally, nationally and internationally.

    Salary:

    € 67,430 to € 87,701 p.a (depending on experience, applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) (This appointment will be made on the Lecturer above the Bar scale for all applicants in line with current Government pay policy)
