    Senior Biostatistician

    • Experience in biostatistical consulting to an advanced level with a varied group of users.
    • Extensive experience in the use of one or more statistical software packages including Stata, R or SPSS.
    • Evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in biostatistics or applied biostatistics, including evidence of sustained high‐quality publications with first authorship and attraction of external competitive grants.
    • Experience and successful track record in supervision of higher degree students.
    • Evidence of tutoring and lecturing at undergraduate or post‐graduate level

    About the Caring Futures Institute

    In 2019, Flinders University launched the Caring Futures Institute, Australia's first fully dedicated research centre for the study of self-care and caring solutions. Our research aims to disrupt traditional models and challenge existing ways of thinking with focus on how caring and self-care research can lead to real outcomes and improved health now and into the future.

    Salary Range: $121,795 - $140,102 p.a.

    About the position

    The Senior Biostatistician will take a lead role in developing and co‐ordinating the biostatistics infrastructure of the Caring Futures Institute and College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This will include; providing leadership in statistical strategy and methodology in collaboration with major research programs or grants, implementing research projects through the provision of biostatistical advice and analysis, delivering on strategic research objectives and building the University's national and international reputation through high quality publications and research collaborations. The role will contribute to biostatistics and research methods teaching activities of the College, particularly the training and support of Higher Degree Students.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you will bring specialist knowledge and experience in at least three of the following areas: epidemiology, design of experiments, longitudinal and clustered data analysis, clinical trials, multivariate methods, psychometrics, meta‐analysis, statistical method development, or numerically intensive methods. Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate:

    Completion of a PhD or equivalent in Applied Statistics or Biostatistics is also a requirement of the role.
