We warmly invite all undergraduates, postgraduates, early- and mid-career researchers in statistics and data science to attend our annual career event.
The goal of this seminar is to create career awareness, to address the challenges of the education-employment transition, and to motivate and inspire young graduates to take their career to the next level. You can make an impact by choosing a career in statistics.
This year we are honoured to have a spectacular stream of speakers, all whom have a special connection to Prof. Geoff McLachlan. Prof. McLachlan has supervised Prof. Kaye Basford who went on and supervised both Dr Jason Bull and Prof. Bronwyn Harch. We have speakers all with statistical background spanning over 3 generations! They will show the wide variety of areas into which graduates can successfully venture.
We strongly encourage you to come along whether you are working directly or indirectly with data and statistics.
Speakers:
- Prof. Geoff McLachlan, PhD, DSc, FAA, The University of Queensland
- Prof. Kaye Basford, FTSE, FAICD, FAIA, FIS, FQA, Head of School of Biomedical Sciences, The University of Queensland
- Dr Jason Bull, Vice President Machine Learning, Object Computing Inc. (previously served as VP at Monsanto, now Bayer)
- Prof. Bronwyn Harch, FTSE, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Vice-President Research, The University of Queensland
