    Applications are invited for an appointment as permanent Lecturer of Type B in Statistical Science at the University of Galway, Ireland.

    Academics in the Discipline have a strong track record of teaching and research in topics including statistical modelling, biostatistics, sports analytics and data science. The School includes the members of the Data Science Institute (DSI) and the associated Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics, which has a strong international reputation in data science.

    We are seeking to recruit talented and committed permanent Lecturers in Statistical Science for teaching, research and service. Applicants are invited from any area of the Statistical Sciences, but those working in financial statistics, actuarial statistics, or health data science are particularly welcome.     The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and supervision at all levels, and should have a good track record in research and scholarship in Statistical Science. They will demonstrate an interest in participating in academic administration, and engagement with industry and society regionally, nationally and internationally.

    Salary: €58,917 to €93,991 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) (This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy)
