    Level B: AUD $114,645 - $136,136 p.a.        + 17% Superannuation

    About the Role
    The School of Mathematics and Statistics is offering an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to become part of our vibrant research community, joining a dynamic research program in the broad context of statistics and data science. In this role, you will expand your expertise to develop a high-level research program encompassing both methodology and applications.

    Our School provides an exceptional environment that nurtures innovative research in data science and statistics. You'll have unparalleled opportunities to collaborate with researchers across a broad range of disciplines from the Melbourne Centre for Data Science, machine learning and bioinformatics researchers in Computing and Information Systems, biostatisticians in Population and Global Health, and big data research in genomics in the Melbourne Integrative Genomics research hub.

    This is a rare opportunity to join a growing Data Science initiative and allows for both a multi-disciplinary environment as well as the continued development of an individual research agenda.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Research and contribution to knowledge through scholarship, cross-disciplinary or industry collaboration, refereed publication and presentations
    • Active application to, and success in obtaining external research grant income to support that research.
    • Contributing to training, scientific mentoring and supervision of students
    • Engaging with relevant professional and industry bodies and stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships
