    Reporting to the Chief Investigator, Associate Professor Blanca Gallego Luxan, this opportunity is to support two grant-funded research projects in the Centre for Big Data Research in Health. Key responsibilities include coordinating project activities, leading aspects, and contributing as a team member to other elements of the research projects. 

    Cardiac AI: Deep learning to predict and prevent secondary cardiovascular events

    Using electronic medical record data and AI technologies to develop and implement an algorithm and a prototype visualisation dashboard to identify cardiac patients who are at high risk of a further cardiovascular event.

    Hospital Trajectories for 15 million Australians

    Use new methods to create longitudinal, patient-centric and data-driven representations of patient experience to inform health service planning, delivery and evaluation by allowing identification of patient subgroups who are most likely to be high users of hospital services.

    Who you are

    You have a PhD in biostatistics, applied statistics, data science, computer science or epidemiology, or a postgraduate qualification in one of these fields plus relevant work experience, as well as a track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of desire and ability to achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.  You can also demonstrate a strong understanding of theory and methods relating to the design of research studies using large-scale observational health and medical data and experience in the management and analysis of large complex health datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
