Join us for the Professional Skills for Statisticians series, hosted by the SSA Mentoring Program. This professional development series is invaluable to statisticians who are looking to improve and enhance their skills in communication, time and project management.

Effective communication and preparation are both essential to excel in job interviews. In this presentation, we will cover key preparation techniques tailored for statisticians, including thorough research on potential employers and crafting compelling responses to common technical and behavioural questions. The talk will emphasize how to effectively communicate complex statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical interviewers. We'll explore strategies for showcasing your analytical skills, discussing your experience with statistical software and programming languages, and presenting your past projects or research. Additionally, the presentation will cover how to align your statistical training and work experience with specific job requirements, demonstrating your value to potential employers.
