The SSA-QLD Young Statistician Careers Seminar was held on the 11 Sept 2018 at QUT, Gardens Points Campus. The event was well received and we had a turnout of approximately 55 people.

Dr Lee Jones, the president of SSA-QLD officiated the event by quoting Google’s chief economist, Hal Varian’s strange prediction back in 2009 “Statistician will be the sexiest job in the next ten years. Data is cheap but what’s scarce is the analytic ability to utilize that data”.
