The STEM Ambassador Program is an initiative born from the success of Science meets Parliament.

Earlier this month STA launched the STEM Ambassadors program, to connect STEM professionals from across Australia with their local Parliamentarians.

Now, STA needs your help to link with the best scientists, technologists and innovators in the electorates of Parliamentarians that have signed up to take part. These include:
Brand (WA)Bruce (Vic)Calwell (Vic)Canberra (ACT)Cowper (NSW)Gellibrand (Vic)Goldstein (Vic),Herbert (QLD)Hunter (NSW)Macarther (NSW)Macquarie (NSW)McPherson (QLD)Newcastle (NSW)Parramatta (NSW)Shortland (NSW)WakeField (SA)Werriwa (NSW)Wills (Vic).

In the program’s first year, STA is encouraging you to approach those STEM professionals in your network who you think might be great advocates for the sector – and who work or live in these electorates – to apply.

STA will provide training and support to these women and men throughout the 12 month program.

STA strongly encourages applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, STEM professionals of all ages, and LGBTI people.

Make sure your discipline is represented, and encourage advocates for your science and technology to apply. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Policy Officer, Peter Derbyshire at [email protected] or on (02) 6257 2891.

STA look forward to making you and your members, staff and affiliates part of this program’s success. Applications close 3 June 2018.
