A 2-year postdoc position is available at the Eurac Research Institute for Biomedicine in Bolzano/Bozen (Italy), within the ProtectMove project, which was developed in collaboration with the University of Lübeck (Germany) and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). By investigating causal epidemiological and molecular pathways for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, the project aims at advancing clinical understanding as well as exploring the methodological challenges of Mendelian randomization in this field.

The post holder will work within a high profile team of biostatisticians and genetic epidemiologists at the Eurac Research Institute for Biomedicine and at the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics of the University of Lübeck. He/she will collaborate with an international network of top-level experts in the field of Mendelian randomization. He/she will be responsible for data quality control, statistical analysis, and manuscript writing. The position requires a highly dynamic, interactive and communicative attitude.

Eurac Research is an applied research center located in Bolzano/Bozen, South Tyrol, Italy. - To collaborate in results interpretation and paper writing

    - To present research findings at seminars and international conferences

    Requirements:

    - PhD degree in Statistics/Biostatistics/Bioinformatics or a related quantitative or biological subject with proven competence in Statistics

    - Experience in large-scale data analysis

    - Previous experience with genetic association studies and/or instrumental variable modeling (including Mendelian randomization) is an advantage
