PhD Scholarship (Expressions of Interest) - Indigenous Health, Epidemiology and Applied Biostats

    The University of Melbourne Aboriginal-led Indigenous Epidemiology and Health Unit, headed by Professor Sandra Eades, in the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics is seeking expressions of interest to undertake a PhD in the area of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. The Centre has a full-time scholarship for an appropriately qualified student to commence research in late 2019 or early 2020 in this exciting area.

    We have exciting research opportunities across the five NHMRC- and MRFF-funded projects, in the areas of Indigenous adolescent health and wellbeing, early childhood health, mental health, brain and heart health (dementia prevention) and the child protection system.  Our research, conducted in collaboration with partners across the country, uses a range of different study designs including prospective cohort studies across 3 states, intervention trials, population-based linked administrative data studies and qualitative studies.  Individual PhD research programs will be co-designed with successful applicants to match their goals, interests and skills.  Expression of interest applications are being sought - Applications will be reviewed as received so please apply as soon as possible!
