ISI Journal STAT – Call for Nominations for Editor-in-Chief
The International Statistical Institute (ISI) invites nominations for Editor-in-Chief of the journal STAT.
Launched in 2012, STAT is an innovative electronic journal for the rapid publication of novel and topical research results. The journal publishes compact articles of the highest quality in all areas of statistical research. Its purpose is to provide a means of rapidly sharing important new theoretical, methodological and applied research. STAT is a joint venture between the ISI and Wiley-Blackwell.
STAT is characterized by:
- • Speed – a single-pass, high-quality review process that aims to publish within 30 days of submission. There is no revision cycle.
- • Concision – a maximum article length of 10 pages of text, not including references.
- • Supporting materials – inclusion of electronic supporting materials such as graphs, video, software, data and images.
- • Scope – addresses all areas of statistics and interdisciplinary research.
The ISI is grateful to the current and founding Editor-in-Chief Dr. Nicholas Fisher for his leadership in conceiving, developing, and launching the journal. Dr. Fisher will be stepping down at the end of 2014, and a search committee has been set up to find a successor.
The new STAT Editor-in-Chief will serve from January 2015 through 2017. S/he must be a member of the ISI and must be a world-renowned leader in research and also be knowledgeable in the use of information technology for electronic publication.
Nominations should be sent to Ms. Liliana Happel at firstname.lastname@example.org. The nomination should include the name, contact information and a link to the web page as well as research and organizational background and editorial experience of the nominee.
The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2014.
All nominations will be considered by the STAT Editor-in-Chief search committee chaired by ISI Vice-President Victor Perez Abreu.
