Speaker: Dr Isuru Ranasinghe MBChB, MMed (Clin Epi), PhD, FRACP
Topic: Profiling variation in hospital care quality: Clinical, Statistical and Policy Considerations.
Biography: Dr. Ranasinghe is a Senior Research Fellow in the Discipline of Medicine at the University of Adelaide and a Cardiologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He leads the Health Performance and Policy Research Unit at the Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Research which focuses on generating research output that informs clinical and policy strategies to improve healthcare quality. Dr. Ranasinghe received his medical degree (2013) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at The Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He received his Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology (2008) and a Ph.D. (2013) from the University of Sydney. He was NHMRC Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Yale University from 2013-14 before moving to Adelaide in 2015.
