Speaker: Dr Murthy Mittinty (University of Adelaide)
Topic: DAGs, Counterfactuals and Data generation process
Abstract: In epidemiological studies often researchers are confronted with longitudinal data. Longitudinal data brings many challenges to modelling. In this presentation I would like to illustrate some of these challenges using directed acyclic graphs and present some recent methods that have been proposed using counterfactuals theory to study such data generating mechanisms.
Biography: Murthy works as Bio-statistician in the school of Public Health, The University of Adelaide. He has a PhD in Statistics from Canterbury University New Zealand. His research interests are in the areas of missing data, causal inference and longitudinal data analysis. Besides academic interests Murthy loves cooking and photography.
