SSAI's Young Statisticians' Conference 2007 - We're Young and We Count - will be held in Canberra on Friday 13 April and Saturday 14 April 2007.

The conference offers two days of opportunity for 'young statisticians' - recent graduates, graduate students, undergraduates contemplating a career in statistics and those who are in the early stages of their statistical careers.

A variety of topics will be discussed by both invited speakers and conference delegates. The conference offers participants the opportunity to hear from and meet with statisticians from varying backgrounds who will share their experiences, research and interests. Delegates who have work they would like to share with others are encouraged to register their interest to present.

A prize will be awarded for the best presentation by a young statistician.

Conference sussions will run from 9am till 5pm on both days at University House on the campus of the Australian National University in Canberra.

The program will be varied. Sessions will include career and study opportunities and some of the following statistical areas: biological sciences & medicine; society; industry; econocmis & finance; computing; methodology; and education.
